Job Summary
 

The Work Study Student will support the Office of Financial Aid as an Office Assistant on the Liberty Campus beginning Spring 2026. The Office Assistant supports United Way's regional service centers by assisting with daily operations, community programs, and client services.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities
 
  • Assists with daily office operations including organizing documents, data entry, filing, and scanning
  • Supports email management and responds to general inquiries professionally and promptly
  • Assists the Regional County Director with special projects, events, and service center operations (e.g. Read United). Backpack Buddies 
  • Tracks inventory, restocks supplies, and notifies staff when supplies are low
  • Updates Smartsheet or designated tracking tools with accurate counts and delivery details
  • Communicates with lead volunteer coordinator regarding weekly volunteer assignments and coverage needs
  • Supports logistics for food deliveries and program distribution. 211 Client Assistance 
  • Maintains updated knowledge of community resources, programs, and intake procedures to support client referrals.

     

Shift Specifics

  • Up to 13 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Off-site with the UWCE's Hinesville location
  • Shifts available Monday - Friday, 8:30AM - 5:00PM

Required Qualifications
 

Educational Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Must be Federal Work eligible.

Preferred Qualifications
 

Preferred Education

  • Undergraduate juniors and seniors are preferred
  • Fluent in English, with experience speaking additional languages

Proposed Salary
 

$15.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
