SUMMARY
The Work-Study Employment Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the broader Student Employment mission of the Career Center. This position oversees the administration of the Federal Work-Study program from a student employment perspective, partnering with Student Financial Aid and Human Resources to ensure compliance, efficient processes, and strong support for students, families, supervisors, and campus partners.
The Coordinator also supports two Federal Work-Study funded programs. First, Mizzou PALS (Preschool Active Learning Service), is a career readiness program matching trained college students with children enrolled in Columbia Public Schools to enhance their language, literacy, and social-emotional skills. Second, the Community Service Work-Study program is a collaboration with the Office of Community Engaged Learning to connect eligible students with employment in local community agencies.
Through employer engagement, training, program evaluation, and collaborative partnerships, the Coordinator enhances meaningful employment experiences that promote student success and community impact.

• Work with current and potential employers and prepare them for employing Mizzou Work-Study students. This includes identifying Community Service Work-Study employer participants and developing employment agreements in collaboration with the Office of Community Engaged Learning.
• Serve as a primary resource for resolving concerns throughout the student employee life cycle, including responding to general inquiries, offering job search coaching, supporting students through pre-onboarding, and addressing on-the job challenges.
• Provide training opportunities to student employees, campus supervisors, and community partners. Topics may include student career and professional development, workplace expectations, reflective learning practices, and program specific training for Mizzou PALS and Community Service Work-Study.

• Assess program effectiveness through data tracking and collecting stakeholder input to continuously make improvements.
Additional Responsibilities
• Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain current knowledge of federal regulations, best practices, and emerging trends related to student employment and Federal Work-Study.
