| Job Details | The Spadoni College of Education and Social Sciences at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for the position of Visiting Lecturer of Political Science in the Department of Political Science beginning in August, 2026. This is a 9-month position, and may be considered for renewal for an additional term based on institutional needs. Visiting Lecturers carry a 5-5 teaching load. We seek to hire a candidate with strong teaching credentials to teach our introductory course in American Government. The ability to teach our department’s introductory statistics course is also desirable. The candidate will also be able to teach courses in his or her subfield of American politics and/or political theory. The ideal candidate’s subfield will complement existing strengths in our department. Possible subfields include American bureaucracy, state politics, local government, American political development, African-American political thought, or contemporary political thought. The chosen candidate is required to have a Ph.D. in political science or a related discipline by the time of appointment.
