The Department of Psychology at the University of St. Thomas invites applications for a one-year, non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professor position in Social Psychology to begin fall 2026 (preferred start date of August 1, 2026).
We seek a teacher-scholar with demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching and a strong commitment to working with students in a liberal arts environment. Teaching responsibilities will include Social Psychology and Research Issues in Social Psychology, with opportunities to teach additional courses such as General Psychology, Research Methods, Cross-Cultural Psychology, Psychology of Women, History of Psychology, Positive Psychology, or other courses aligned with the candidate’s expertise and departmental needs. The typical teaching load is six courses over the academic year. The department especially welcomes candidates who are committed to inclusive excellence and who have experience engaging students from diverse backgrounds through innovative and evidence-based teaching practices. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in departmental and university service and to contribute positively to our academic community.

Salary & Benefits
The University of St. Thomas offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits program, which includes:

The salary range for this position is $65,000-70,000.
The University of St. Thomas has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
A Ph.D. (U.S. or Foreign Equivalent) in Psychology or a related field, or alternatively, ABD candidates nearing completion (with appointment at the rank of instructor) will also be considered.
