Blue Ridge Community College invites applications from licensed veterinary technicians for a full-time, 9-month (August – May) Veterinary Technology Instructional Lab Support position supporting the Veterinary Technology Program.
The position involves instructing students in laboratory and clinical settings, laboratory preparation and maintenance, providing veterinary care to animals and other program related functions alongside a large team of experienced, talented veterinarians and veterinary technicians. The position requires the candidate to also manage the regulatory processes associated with the Veterinary Technology program. Position may also be required to teach Vet Assist courses. The successful candidate will maintain their licensure as an LVT throughout their time in the position.
Program facilities are well equipped for all aspects of veterinary technology instruction in delivering a broad array of courses. The program benefits from strong college administration and community support.
This is a full-time, classified, 9-month position paid over 12 months. Candidates selected for interview will likely be required to facilitate an instructional demonstration as part of the interview process.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications
Required qualifications include current licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as a veterinary technician in Virginia, Associate degree in Veterinary Technology, two years or more of occupational experience as a licensed veterinary technician, effective verbal and written communication skills, and a commitment to educating program students.
Additional Considerations
Helpful qualifications include a strong background in small animal dentistry, previous experience in an academic setting, and recent clinical experience.
