| Position Highlights | University Animal Care, at the University of Arizona, is in search of a Training & QA Program Coordinator. The Training & QA Program coordinator leads the coordination, standardization, and continuous improvement of the department’s training and procedural documentation programs across multiple animal care and research facilities. This position develops and maintains a centralized training ecosystem to ensure consistent, high-quality training for staff and research personnel engaged in animal husbandry, veterinary care and support operations while accommodating site-specific operational needs. The role oversees curriculum development, SOP lifecycle management, training documentation, and digital learning resources related to animal management and regulated research environments. Working closely with subject-matter experts, compliance partners, and facility trainers, the coordinator ensures training materials remain current, accessible, and aligned with institutional and regulatory requirements governing animal care and welfare. The position also maintains the public-facing training website and supports modernization of training systems and workflows. University Animal Care (UAC) manages multiple centralized animal facilities at the University of Arizona and oversees the campus wide animal care and use program. UAC provides assistance to scientists, physicians, staff, and students who have received Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) approval to perform research, testing, or educational studies on animal subjects. UAC ensures humane and appropriate animal care and use by providing for the animals daily needs, veterinary care, and monitoring the use of the animals by principal investigators, technical personnel, and students. UAC is devoted to maintaining a safe environment that minimizes the risk of disease or injury to the animals and the personnel who work with them. UAC maintains accreditation by AAALAC International, the gold standard for animal care and use programs.
