Position SummaryThe UNM-Valencia Campus is accepting applications for temporary, part-time faculty to teach Developmental Mathematics (below college level) courses. If online teaching is needed, documented accepted training and/or in-house training would be required. Positions are contingent upon the need of each semester as determined by student enrollment levels and current course offerings. This is a continuous recruitment beginning in the Fall 2026 semester.
Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of The University of New Mexico, which functions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution.  With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit courses to high schools in Valencia and Socorro Counties.  The faculty and staff serve a student body of over 2,000 students per semester. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s in Mathematics or related field/degree.
  • Minimum of 24 credit hours in college mathematics and/or mathematics education courses, including a grade of A or B in three semesters of calculus. The minimum transcript requirement must include completing mathematics courses through third-semester calculus.
  • Two years of experience teaching or tutoring in Mathematics or a related field/degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree, Ph.D., EdD, or ABD in Mathematics, Education, or related field/degree with 18 graduate credit hours in Mathematics.
  • Documented training to teach online classes.
