Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in Breast Cancer Translational Research Program

The Winthrop Rockefeller Cancer Institute (WPRCI) at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) invites applications for full-time tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor with a primary focus on breast cancer translational research. We seek highly accomplished, innovative investigators with a demonstrated track record, or strong potential, for securing sustained NIH (or equivalent national level) extramural funding.
The Breast Cancer Translational Research Program is a rapidly expanding, high-impact program within the Cancer Institute, supported by multiple NIH/NCI R01 grants and anchored by leading breast cancer scientists, medical oncologists, a state-of-the-art breast imaging center, and an integrated interdisciplinary research enterprise. In addition, there is a robust clinical trials infrastructure and tumor bank supported by the Cancer Institute. The program is financially supported in part by the Arkansas Breast Cancer Research Program, which has contributed over $8M in research dollars over the last 10 years.
Research Focus
We are particularly interested in candidates whose work bridges basic discovery and clinical application in breast cancer, including: 1)Therapy resistance and development of novel therapeutics; 2) Cancer metastasis, tumor microenvironment, and biochemical/biophysical signaling; 3) Cancer immunology and precision oncology

Qualifications
1) PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent terminal degree;2) A strong record of high-impact publications;3) Evidence of current NIH funding (R01 or equivalent) is strongly preferred for Associate Professor applicants; 4) Assistant Professor candidates should demonstrate clear potential to secure NIH funding, supported by prior grant activity, strong preliminary data, and a compelling future research plan; 5) Commitment to collaborative team science, mentorship, and an inclusive research culture
