The Opportunity
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a Summer Camp Dorm Office Coordinator to support our K-12 Education Outreach summer programs. This seasonal role plays a key part in ensuring a safe, organized, and engaging residential experience for camp participants.
The Coordinator will collaborate closely with program leadership and staff to oversee dorm operations, monitor student activities, and ensure compliance with university policies. This position requires strong decision-making skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to customer service.
This role requires availability for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
Dorm Operations & Student Oversight
Supervise and monitor all camp attendees and staff within residential facilities
Ensure compliance with ERAU minors policies and program guidelines
Track student schedules, locations, and safety at all times
Conduct nightly meetings with counselor teams and provide shift handoffs
Maintain and distribute dorm equipment and supplies
Prepare and send detailed nightly reports to leadership
Ensure adherence to quiet hours and curfew policies
Communicate proactively with students, families, and staff
Programming Support
Assist in planning and facilitating evening and weekend activities
Collaborate with program staff to enhance student engagement
Check-In/Check-Out Coordination
Manage off-schedule arrivals and departures
Process required documentation and distribute materials (keys, ID cards, equipment)
Coordinate airport pickups/drop-offs, including unaccompanied minors
Training & Leadership Support
Participate in staff training related to minors’ policies and camp procedures
Serve as a representative for program leadership when needed
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred
3–5 years of relevant work experience
Required Skills & Abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Customer service-focused with a professional demeanor
Comfortable working with diverse populations and youth programs
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general technology
Additional Requirements
Valid Florida driver’s license (or ability to obtain)
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Successful completion of background check (required for working with minors)
Ability to maintain a professional and positive environment under pressure
