Position Summary:
The position advertised requires an individual with extensive experience working with primary and secondary sources as a researcher and writer of historical studies. In addition, the position requires the ability to write metadata for historical documents, and to prepare them for uploading to a digital database housed in the University of Northern Colorado libraries. The successful applicant also will participate in team meetings and contribute to a final report to the National Park Service. The period of employment will be from April 1 to May 31, 2026.
Minimum Qualifications:
- An M.A. in US History or closely related field
- At least 3 years of research experience with federal agency records
- Experience with writing of literature reviews for historical projects
- Experience with historical database development
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 software
- Experience with preparation of final reports for historical projects
- Ability to plan, organize and schedule project activities
- Ability to present research information at professional conferences
