Gain hands-on experience in a professional IT environment while developing important technical and interpersonal skills. You’ll work closely with a supportive team of mentors and improve your skills in communication, customer service, hardware deployment, cybersecurity best practices, and troubleshooting.
Accountabilities
Responsibilities include:
User Support: Utilize active listening to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues; accurately document all client interactions within our service management system.
Hardware Deployment: Deliver and configure computers and peripheral equipment in offices, labs, and classrooms, ensuring all technology is fully functional upon setup.
Equipment Management: Assist with the assembly, disassembly, and physical transport of computer systems and related hardware.
Inventory Integrity: Conduct physical inventory audits and maintain data accuracy using spreadsheets to cross-check university assets.
Data Stewardship: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive data and adhere to university best practices for cybersecurity and privacy.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and document technical solutions effectively for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to follow established protocols and execute detailed instructions accurately
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • A high degree of punctuality and dependability
  • A commitment to providing exceptional customer service
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of both Windows and Mac OS platforms
  • Familiarity with tablets, mobile devices, and basic networking concepts
  • Experience with hardware setup, including docking stations, monitors, and cable management
  • A logical approach to problem-solving and technical troubleshooting
  • A current valid driver’s license
Education
Highschool diploma or equivalent.

Must be able to lift 30 lbs
