Position Summary
The Student Music Office Assistant aids with the day-to-day operations of the Department of Music. May assist with Departments Events by passing out programs and helping with the front of the house. The Student Music Office Assistant reports to the Music Secretary / Venue Manager.
This student position is open to current UIW students who may be hired through the Federal Work-Study Program.
Essential Functions
Essential functions include:
  • Scanning and making copies.
  • Running errands for the department.
  • Setting up classrooms for larger ensembles.
  • Managing practice rooms and supervising use by other students.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications


Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the Department of Music Faculty and Staff.
  • Accountable in attendance.
  • Demonstrates excellent performance in the classroom.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
Current UIW student approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study program.
Required Work Experience
No prior work experience is required; training will be available for duties about the department as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an office environment.
  • Experience with scanning and copying using a Xerox Printer.
  • Knowledge of the Department of Music and the Luella Bennack Music Center.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
None.
Work Hours
  • General availability during normal business hours, Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm.
  • 15-19hrs per week.

Physical Demands
  • Prolonged sitting at an office desk.
  • Ability to move about campus and lift up to 25 pounds.
