The Media Technology Support department is recruiting a Student IT Systems Assistant to join their team of professionals. The position will assist in distribution, setup and retrieval of multimedia equipment for classes and events at university facilities, as well as off-campus locations.
Duties include:
¿ Monitoring and troubleshooting of multimedia systems in classrooms and various campus locations
¿ Training of Faculty, Staff and Students on proper use of multimedia systems
¿ Preventative maintenance of multimedia systems in classrooms and various campus locations
¿ Assisting with equipment reservations and checkout
¿ Ensuring that departmental storerooms are kept clean and properly organized
¿ General relocation and setup of office equipment and supplies
¿ Manage Windows and Linux server systems
¿ Help with computer imaging
¿ Transcoding of video files
¿ Create documentation for systems
- None to basic level of Microsoft Word.
- Experience with multimedia equipment, computers and perifpheral devices.
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, web browsers and media players.
- Customer service oriented and posses the ability to interact with students, faculty and the general public.
- Able to work well with other members of staff in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to lift forty (40) pounds without mechanical assistance.
Student Assistant
- Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of six (6) credits as an Undergraduate student or three (3) credits as a Graduate student during the Fall and Spring semesters.
- During the Summer semesters, Students need only remain enrolled and are not required to take credit hours, but cannot have graduated.
- Upon decreasing credit hours or graduating, student employment must end.
Schedule varies.
Monday through Thursday 7AM-11AM;
Fridays 7AM-6PM;
Saturdays 8AM-5PM
$15.00/hour to $16.00/hour
