| Job Summary | Statisticians Research, design, develop, and validate statistical models to be able to identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns in complex data sets. Manage multiple large data sets, plan data collection methods, and determine types and sizes of sample groups to be used. Report results of statistical analyses, including information in the form of graphs, charts, and tables. Knowledgeable of descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, and statistical programming packages (e.g., R, S, SAS, SPSS). | Responsibilities | Statistician/ Biostatistician Research, design, develop, and validate statistical models to be able to identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns in complex data sets. Manage multiple large data sets, plan data collection methods, and determine types and sizes of sample groups to be used. Report results of statistical analyses, including information in the form of graphs, charts, and tables. Knowledgeable of descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, and statistical programming packages (e.g., R, S, SAS, SPSS). Recognized as subject matter expert and advanced individual contributor professional. Expertise required in Clinical trials and growth curve modeling. PhD preferred. Requires specialized skill set. Conducts highly complex work, unsupervised and with extensive latitude for independent judgment. |
| Minimum Qualifications | EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience). Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels: Statistician, II: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience. Statistician, III: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience. Statistician, IV: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 8 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 6 years of directly related work experience. Statistician, V: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 10 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 8 years of directly related work experience. Statistician, VI: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 12 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 10 years of directly related work experience. Statistician, VII: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 14 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 12 years of directly related work experience. |
