Position Responsibilities


Position Summary
This fiscal year, non-tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor for the Doctorate in Anatomical Sciences will teach graduate-level courses in Anatomy consistent with the area of expertise, as well as provide support for integrating content in other SHAMP programs. In addition, they will utilize innovative, evidence-based teaching strategies to engage students in both in-person and online formats; provide academic mentorship, guidance, and support to students, including capstone advising; and assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to facilitate learning. The faculty will oversee recruiting and admissions for the doctorate of anatomical sciences. The faculty will also engage with local and regional agencies related to anatomical sciences to promote academic initiatives and identify student opportunities. They will also engage in scholarly or creative activities relevant to the field of Anatomy.

Administrative Summary
Contingency Description
This faculty appointment is contingent on funding and/or work to support the position. Employee acknowledges and agrees that in the event of insufficient funding and/or work, as determined by University in its sole discretion, University may: (1) change this Agreement by adjusting the employee’s FTE and annual salary throughout the contract year; or (2) terminate this Agreement and employee’s employment prior to the end of the term of appointment, upon 60 days written notice. Employee further acknowledges and agrees that in the event termination for insufficient funding and/or work becomes necessary, the notice provisions of Faculty Staff Handbook 3900B will not apply.

Qualifications


Minimum Education/Degree Required Listed degree qualification is required at time of hire.
Required Qualifications
  • Terminal Degree (PhD, EdD, MD) in Education, Health Professions Education, Anatomical Sciences, or a closely related field
  • Experience with teaching at the graduate level in anatomical sciences, medical school, or graduate-level allied health professional program or related fields
  • Experience communicating both orally and in writing
  • Experience with dissection-based anatomical sciences course setup and delivery

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with in-person, laboratory, and online teaching methods
  • Experience with anatomical prosection technique
  • Experience with qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods educational research
  • Experience with graduate student supervisory committee service
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering student success and academic excellence
  • Demonstrated interprofessional collaborative teaching experience
