Position Summary
Works with the Principal Investigator and other faculty and post-doctoral associates on writing research proposals for grant funding.
Job Responsibilities
- Assists Principal Investigator(s) in writing and editing research grants for funding. This includes large programmatic multi-PI, multi-Institutional grants.
- Prepares research proposals for foundation grants and for research alliances with pharmaceutical companies.
- Collaborates with PI's and administrators from WCM and other institutions on joint grant submissions.
- Helps write annual progress reports for federal, foundation and research alliance grants.
- Works with the PI and other senior faculty in drafting manuscripts for publication.
- Helps write and edit progress reports and review articles for faculty, postdoctoral associates and students.
- Maintains and updates documents required for grant submission, including but not limited to - biosketches of all PIs and key personnel, other support documents and facilities and resources documents.
- Maintains reference document libraries for manuscript and grant submission.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree
Masters degree and/or above in biomedical science with proven scientific writing experience will be given preference. Bachelors degree in biomedical science with a thorough understanding of Biology/Molecular biology and proven writing skills required. At least 3 years experience in scientific writing in the academic/research setting. Must have excellent English speech and writing skills and proven experience in editing and scientific writing. Must be highly computer literate with experience in MS Office and Adobe Software and be able to manage scientific databases Must keep up-to-date with the relevant literature in the fieldKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
