Job Summary/Basic Function
The Rock Camp Mentor in Training (MIT) is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all campers while assisting band leaders and camp director with classroom management, behavior guidance, and group transitions. Rock Camp Mentors in Training are expected to uphold the high standards of the university by demonstrating professionalism, responsibility, and a commitment to excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Rock Camp Mentor in Training (MIT) is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all campers while assisting band leaders and camp director with classroom management, behavior guidance, and group transitions. Rock Camp Mentors in Training are expected to uphold the high standards of the university by demonstrating professionalism, responsibility, and a commitment to excellence.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist senior Camp Mentors in supervising campers.
  • Help plan and lead activities, games, and workshops.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of campers.
  • Provide a positive and inclusive camp experience.
  • Learn leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Follow camp rules and assist with setup and cleanup.
  • Engage campers with enthusiasm and creativity, making activities fun and memorable.
  • Interact professionally with parents and guardians, providing excellent communication and a welcoming atmosphere at drop-off and pick-up.
