New HampshireView, an AmericaView member state (https://americaview.org/), is looking to host a research technician within the Basic and Applied Spatial Analysis Lab (BASAL). The BASAL is located within the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment at the University of New Hampshire. This researcher will work directly with the State Director (Dr. Benjamin T. Fraser) and Principal Investigator (PI) (Dr. Mark Ducey) to carry out the current ‘High Impact Activity’.
Duties/Responsibilities
Compiling literature and methods related to forest health monitoring using remote sensing and GIS (20%)
Conducting novel geospatial analyses (50%)
Documenting methods and results (20%)
Working with collaborators and stakeholders to define realistic project goals (10%)
Minimum Qualifications
Basic knowledge of Remote Sensing and GIS
Experience using ArcGIS Pro
Knowledge of Forest Health and Forest Ecology
Technical Writing
Science Communication
