The successful applicant will engage in research using science education to develop evidence-based teaching tools that are helpful to support community discourse and/or science civic engagement. The RAP will lead ongoing qualitative and quantitative data and manuscript development related to the NSF grant My Impact: Experiential Learning in a Large-Enrollment Introductory Science Course. Independent grant writing may be based on a variety of opportunities including work within Science Literacy 101 or other educational contexts within the School of Natural Resources or College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in science education or a related field at the time of appointment.
  • Demonstrated experience in science education research or related fields.
  • Demonstrated evidence of teaching and research related to students’ experiential learning.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Record of work which clearly identifies a specialty in experiential learning.
  • Teaching/primary instructor experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, specifically with large enrollment first-year courses.
  • Demonstrated success through grant funding at various levels focused on science education or related research.
