Job Description

The Project Manager III will manage and supervise the Natural Resources Intergovernmental Support Agreements (IGSA) and staff at Fort Irwin, California. Team project activities include developing, implementing, tracking budgets, tracking timelines and deliverables, and providing periodic evaluations and reports for projects that are generally medium too large in scope. Develops and coordinates project plans through full implementation.

Responsibilities:

- Supervise and manage the IGSA team at Fort Irwin, overseeing daily operations, staff workload, and task coordination across all IGSA agreements.

- Maintain awareness of program schedules and ensure adequate staffing and coverage.

- Assign, prioritize, and monitor tasks to meet project goals, deliverables, and quality standards.

- Monitor project budgets and support efficient resource allocation.

- Serve as primary point of contact for staff inquiries, issues, and operational needs.

- Ensure compliance with workplace policies, procedures, safety requirements, and Sikes Act regulations.

- Provide technical guidance and support for natural resources projects, including project development, assessment, and coordination.

- Review program guidelines, procedures, project documents, and prepare progress reports.

- Support geospatial mapping and GIS tasks related to natural resources.

- Write, review, and revise technical reports.

- Assist with the annual review and implementation of the Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan (INRMP).

- Track permits, project milestones, and deadlines.

- Provide administrative and field support for natural resource surveys and related tasks.

- Conduct stakeholder meetings to coordinate and schedule project activities

- Establish goals for project delivery and apply best practices in vendor management and project lifecycle processes.

- May supervise additional staff or students as needed.
Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

- Seven years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Working knowledge of spreadsheet, presentation, and word processing software programs.

- Interpersonal and communication skills and ability to plan and organize effectively.

- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Soft Funding Clause: Due to this position’s salary having all or a portion of it being funded by grants or contracts, the continuing salary and overall employment is contingent upon the availability of these funds in the future.
