Position Description:

The School of Nursing Program Manager I is professional position responsible for the comprehensive management, coordination, and data oversight of undergraduate and graduate academic programs within the School of Nursing. This position provides high-level programmatic, administrative, and operational support to the Associate Deans and Assistant Deans, functioning as a critical link between academic leadership and the diverse internal and external stakeholders who interact with the School of Nursing.

The Program Manager I brings exceptional organizational acumen, advanced project management skills, and an in-depth understanding of academic program operations to ensure the seamless execution of programmatic priorities. The role requires the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and discernment, anticipating needs and resolving complex challenges proactively in a dynamic, fast-paced academic environment.

The successful candidate will demonstrate superior communication skills, capable of coordinating and managing multiple tasks under pressure, while remaining flexible, professional, assertive, proactive, resourceful, effective and efficient.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Exercises high-level judgment and independent decision-making to proactively advance programmatic and operational priorities on behalf of the Associate and Assistant Deans. Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and keep the Associate and Assistant Deans informed about progress or issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with the program administrators to compile, manage, and submit required data and reports to institutional, state, and national regulatory and accrediting bodies, including the Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN), American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Provides staff support for the CCNE Accreditation work; manages SLO data collection and course reports for undergraduate and graduate programs each semester; assist with collection of Faculty Outcomes and Graduating Student Surveys; represents the School on the Institutional Effectiveness Advisory Committee (IEAC) and supports QS World Rankings data submissions.
  • Serves as staff support person for assigned School of Nursing standing committees, provides scheduling, agenda preparation, minutes, and follow-up.
  • Manages 3rd party software platform for clinical data management.
  • Plans and executes School of Nursing events including Convocation, Commencement, poster presentations, Transition Ceremony, Open House, and executive-level ceremonial events; maintains event inventory and coordinates sponsorship activities
  • Communication of all relevant program information to nursing faculty, staff and students on HSC and in Owensboro. This involves searching for relevant information, development of artistic presentations and maintaining currency. Communication with university and HSC through meetings, and collaborations with multiple groups both internal and external to the university.
  • Serve as the School of Nursing liaison for Commencement. Communicate with the appropriate departments regarding graduating students and school awards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and be able to contribute time and effort to occasional off hours' events, guests, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree (MBA, Master of Public Administration, Master of Higher Education, Project Management, or related field).10 years of progressively responsible experience in academic program administration, accreditation support, or institutional research within a higher education or healthcare education setting.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent credential.
  • Proficiency with data management systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint, Forms), Adobe Express, and academic information systems.
  • Experience with nursing regulatory reporting to state boards of nursing and/or national nursing organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in event planning and management for large-scale academic or ceremonial events.
Target Compensation Maximum:

$89,483.00

Target Compensation Minimum:

$59,655.00

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
