| Job Summary | Are you looking for a fun and fulfilling summer job? Look no further than being a Summer Camp Educator at Red Butte Garden and Arboretum (RBGA). Work at the beautiful garden and enjoy making a positive impact in the lives of children in kindergarten – 7th grade. Lead STEAM-based summer camps that teach kids about plants and the natural world through hands-on activities, exciting experiments, creative art projects, fun interactions with their peers, outdoor explorations, and more. Plus, you’ll make new friends and find mentors in our diverse staff of new and seasoned educators. You’ll also strengthen and acquire skills in leadership, communication, classroom management, teaching, curriculum development, and more. Red Butte Garden is accessible through multiple public transit options. Several bus routes serve Research Park and the University Medical Center, and the Trax Red Line provides nearby access, followed by a short walk or an on-demand University campus shuttle. | Responsibilities | 1. Lead, teach, and supervise campers during their time at RBGA to ensure a successful camp experience.
2. Create and develop activities for campers that follow RBGA’s mission.
3. Maintain high standards of health and safety for campers
4. Be a role model to campers in your attitude and behavior.
5. Represent RBGA when interacting with parents, caregivers, or community partners.
6. Assist with other activities, programs, and seasonal events as needed by performing other relevant duties as assigned. Working Environment

| Minimum Qualifications | EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience). Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels: Program Assistant,, I: Requires little to no related experience. Program Assistant,, II: Requires at least 1 year of related experience. |
