Postdoctoral fellows will work closely with Athletic Training faculty and staff to support the University of Idaho Athletic Training Program. They will assist in delivery of both the masters and doctor of athletic training coursework. Primary responsibilities will be supporting the clinic and assisting in teaching. Postdoctoral fellows will have the opportunity to collaborate with students, faculty, and staff in the School of Health and Medical Professions.
Position Overview
The Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) Program at the University of Idaho is offering a full-time, 2-year, non-recurring post-doctoral fellowship. This postdoctoral fellowship is designed for aspiring Athletic Training (AT) educators or for Athletic Trainers who are interested in pursuing a career in AT/Healthcare Education. The MSAT postdoctoral fellow position is designed to create opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, and preparation in developing skills essential to becoming an effective athletic training program instructor and/or administrator in future career pursuits. The activities of the postdoctoral fellow will be tailored to facilitate the mentorship and development of the successful applicant. There will be numerous opportunities to facilitate, create, and contribute to delivery of the MSAT’s curriculum. Additionally, there will also be many opportunities to engage in and earn experience with tasks related to program administration and accreditation. The postdoctoral fellow will also be expected to facilitate, contribute to, and complete research alongside the program’s faculty, staff, and students.

Position Qualifications


Required Experience
  • Athletic Training Board of Certification (i.e. BOC) Credential
  • Possess or be eligible for Idaho State Board of Medicine Athletic Training Licensure
  • Experience with CAATE accreditation standards as evidenced by previous position duties or involvement in CAATE site visit
  • Experience working with multi-coordinator team to conduct Athletic Training Program clinical site and student site visits
  • Experience documenting Athletic Training Program clinical site and student site visits and providing site reports to program administration.
Required Education
  • Ph.D in Athletic Training or related field
Required Other
  • None
Additional Preferred
  • Prior experience in Athletic Training teaching/instruction at the professional graduate level, with a preference for clinically-focused coursework
  • Interest and/or prior experience in Athletic Training-related and/or patient care research
  • Strong experience with assessment of patient outcomes data collected during clinical practice
  • Experience or certification with online/hybrid curriculum and instruction.
  • Evidence of training, education, and/or experience with advanced clinical practice and multiple manual therapy paradigms
