Position Summary
We are looking for a Postdoctoral Scholar to help the lab clarify the structural biology of human membrane proteins and membrane protein complexes involved in epithelial cell/cell adhesion and intercellular transport using X-ray crystallography, cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), microcrystal electron diffraction (microED), and small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS).
The Postdoctoral Scholar will be responsible for:
  • The expression, purification, and structure determination of these membrane proteins and complexes.
  • Assisting with lab organization and operation
  • Training of students and other lab personnel
  • Grant and manuscript proposal development and writing.

Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in structural biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or a related discipline. The candidate should also possess effective written, verbal, and listening skills.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years’ experience in membrane protein biochemistry, preparation and handling and 2+ years’ experience in one structural biology technique.
Physical Demands
Salary Range $55,000 - $65000
Additional Salary Information The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.
