Overview
The Egner Lab , led by Dr. Tobias Egner in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Duke University, is accepting applications for an NIH-funded Postdoctoral Associate position. The lab studies cognitive control using behavioral/modeling, fMRI, EEG, and TMS approaches. The Postdoctoral Associate will build specifically on our ongoing research examining neurocognitive mechanisms underpinning the regulation of task focus (cognitive stability) and task switching (cognitive flexibility).
Responsibilities and qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field, and a strong publication record in topics related to cognitive control, such as conflict-control or task-switching. Strong programming and statistical skills are essential. The ideal candidate will be able to successfully juggle multiple projects, make connections across research areas, and enjoy mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
Responsibilities will include developing study designs, programming experiments, data collection and analysis, manuscript preparation, research presentations, IRB submissions, and the supervision of students and research assistants.
This position will provide the opportunity to interact with a vibrant cognitive neuroscience community at Duke, including collaborations with other PIs in the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience.
This is a full-time, grant-funded position, eligible for all Duke benefits (https://hr.duke.edu/benefits ) with an initial appointment of one year, with the possibility of renewal up to 3 years, dependent on funding and performance.
