Post-Doctoral Fellow in Organizational Behavior and Human-AI Teams
The Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking candidates for a position as a post-doctoral fellow. We are seeking applicants with education and training in Organizational Behavior, Management, Psychology, Communications, or a related field, and with experience and/or strong interests in human-AI teamwork. Applicants who are interested in joining a collegial, interdisciplinary environment and interested in working on real problems and applications in the area of human-AI team effectiveness are invited to apply.
The position is designed to involve: close work with Professors Lindsay Larson and Anna Mayo at Heinz College on a sponsor-funded project; mentorship and time to advance a research program in the area of human-AI teaming; and the possibility of teaching up to 1 course in each academic year of their tenure at the Heinz College.
Previous Heinz College post-doctoral fellows have gone on to successful academic jobs at CMU and other universities.
Compensation will include a salary, benefits, and funding for research and research-related travel expenses. This is intended to be a 2-year position, renewed annually subject to demonstration of research productivity.

Applicants should have received a Ph.D. within the last two years ? or expected by Fall 2026 ? with rigorous training in Organizational Behavior, Management, Psychology, Communications, or a related field.
The ideal candidate will have experience studying groups and teams, with training and/or strong interests in theory-driven approaches to enabling team effectiveness in human-AI collaboration contexts. Scholars who work across disciplines and levels of analysis and are conversant with multiple methodologies will be of particular interest.
