Position Description
WORK PERFORMING: The postdoctoral researcher will develop scalable design automation methodologies and software infrastructure for next-generation computing systems, including neuromorphic and emerging hardware platforms. The position involves designing high-performance algorithms and GPU-accelerated tools for circuit and system design optimization, addressing challenges in physical design, timing analysis, and large-scale hardware design automation. The researcher will collaborate with faculty and students, participate in group meetings, publish research papers, contribute to project reports, and assist in mentoring graduate students.

EDUCATION/TRAINING: Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.

EXPERIENCE: Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: electronic design automation (EDA), neuromorphic computing, machine learning for hardware design, integrated circuit design, or hardware–software co-design. Experience with semiconductor design tools, circuit/system modeling, or large-scale hardware design projects is highly desirable. A strong record of research publications is preferred.

SKILLS: Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, C/C++, CUDA or similar); Background in algorithms for physical design automation, timing analysis, or circuit optimization; Experience with semiconductor design tools and research software development; Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment; Strong written and verbal communication skills for research publications and reports.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Standard office and computer-based work environment. The position requires the ability to work at a computer workstation for extended periods and participate in meetings and collaborative research activities.
