Job Description:
Summary:
The Research Assistant supports faculty-led research, instructional technology initiatives, and event planning activities for the Institute for Applied Artificial Intelligence (IAAI). This role contributes directly to the Institute’s research productivity, educational programming, and external engagement efforts.
Essential Functions:
1.) AI Research Support
Conduct literature reviews related to artificial intelligence, data analytics, and emerging digital technologies
Review, test, and document AI tools, platforms, and analytics technologies for research and instructional use
2.) Instructional Technology Support
Develop instructional and training materials, including documentation, tutorials, and learning resources.
3.) Event Planning and Organizing
Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of meetings, workshops, and conferences.
Provide general research, technical, and administrative support to the faculty supervisor as needed.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Part-Time.
20 hours per week.
This is a temporary part-time position ending on or before 12/31/2026.
Salary Range:
$19.50 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Less than 1 year of relevant experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master's degree.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field.
Strong knowledge of AI methods, data analytics, and contemporary AI tools, including generative AI.
Ability to conduct structured literature and technology reviews.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Experience supporting academic or applied research projects.
Familiarity with instructional technologies and learning platforms.
This position is critical to the ongoing success of the Institute for Applied Artificial Intelligence and requires a candidate with both strong technical expertise and the ability to operate effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced academic environment.
Experience assisting with academic or professional events.
