Gameday U and Sooner Sports Pad are a student-produced television newscast that airs on Cox Cable and are live streamed on ESPN’s SEC+, YouTube and Facebook.

The Gameday U and Sooner Sports Pad student employee will help produce the show’s broadcast each week during the semester. The employees will help with building out the show, timing the show while it’s on air, editing, writing, making graphics and other assignments to make sure the broadcast goes smoothly each week. Work will take place preparing the show for air, while the show is on air and after the broadcast wraps up each week.

The student may perform as the Gameday U and/or Sooner Sports Pad Producer or Associate Producer. There may be other roles/duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required Education: Must be currently enrolled in the Spring Term as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

  • Must attach Spring 2026 class schedule
  • Completion of JMC 3011 (OU Nightly section or the Gameday U or Sooner Sports Pad section) or prior volunteer experience on OU Nightly, Gameday U and Sooner Sports Pad

Skills:

  • Familiar with newsroom system/software Inception to include inserting graphics and video and full knowledge of scripting for all broadcast style scripts
  • Effective communication skills and professional attitude
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
