Position Summary:
The Office Manager is responsible for the administrative activities of The Perlmutter Center for Legal Justice (PCLJ), which includes administrative support to the Executive Director and Deputy Director of the Perlmutter Center for Legal Justice (PCLJ). The incumbent will be responsible for activities related to academic operations, event logistics, purchasing, faculty and student coordination, and scheduling.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage the Executive Director and Deputy Director's calendars, including coordinating schedules with Cardozo personnel, students, and other stakeholders, as appropriate
- Manage and support PCLJ's financial operations, including purchasing, invoice processing, expense management, and financial reporting
- Coordinate with the Communications Office to maintain and update information about PCLJ
- Provide support to the Executive Director and Deputy Director in organizing marketing efforts to promote PCLJ
- Assist the PCLJ with record keeping, report drafting (such as funding and annual reports), correspondence, and handling requests for information
- Coordinate and communicate with other departments as needed, such as Special Events, Finance & Administration, Communications, Information Technologies, Personnel, and student groups
- Support logistics for the annual National Forensic College (NFC) event, an advanced, week-long forensic science continuing legal education seminar designed for experienced trial and post-conviction defense litigators
- Organize and support public events, conferences, and training sessions; prepare and distribute invitations; manage registrations; coordinate technical, communications, and other logistical needs; and arrange travel accommodations
- Support special projects and other related administrative tasks as appropriate
- Create a welcoming and team-oriented environment
- Handle and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive records/data
Experience & Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of five years of work experience, preferably in a lead administrator role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong organizational and writing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across departments, campuses, and all levels of faculty and administration
- Familiarity with case management processes, preferably experience related to criminal legal matters
- Experience managing sensitive and confidential data and records
- Ability to manage projects, prioritize needs, interpret policies, and resolve operational issues
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), cloud-based tools, and Canvas
