The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for an OMT (Observer, Mentor, Trainer). This position is responsible to the Senior OMT and Commandant of Cadets for observing, mentoring, and teaching military knowledge to a 750+ member Corps of Cadets. Individual provides coaching and advisement to Cadets on residential living, discipline, community activities, overall welfare and academic preparation.
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and holds the responsibility of serving as a mandatory reporter for all Clery Act crimes.

- Serves as Cadet Leadership Academy representative during evening hours and selected weekends; teaches Cadet leaders how to observe, report, and respond to behavioral health issues.
- Mentors and teaches Cadet leaders in student conduct procedures; serves as a Student Conduct Investigator and Discipline Officer for UNG.
- Teaches Cadet leaders to conduct High-Risk Training and to incorporate control measures to reduce liability (risk management).
- Provides performances counseling to Cadets leaders and supervises their counseling of subordinates in support of the 48-month Curated Leadership Experience
- Teaches Cadet leaders how to monitor all aspects of residential living to include accountability, maintenance, and upkeep. Supervises the conduct of Study Hours, designed to enhance academic preparation.
- Teaches Cadet leaders the role of a senior non-commissioned officer.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of working with college students in a military/academic atmosphere.
- Knowledge of PC platforms; knowledge of MICROSOFT Office, Excel, Power Point and other programs a must.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to multi-task, conduct formal and informal investigations; maintain order and discipline.
- High school graduate required.
- Prior service E7/E8, retired military career. Previous Army ROTC experience.
- Experience in logistics management and human resources is a plus for this position.
- Must be prepared to cover day shift (0800-1730) as required.
