Position Summary
Manages resident/fellowship/student program(s) objectives and provides supervision and oversight of program(s) support staff. Develops educational technologies, research and related projects to ensure a continued efficient workflow and ensures cohesive and collaborative relationships between department program(s) office, GMEC, ACGME, School of Medicine and other departments. Supervises two or more employees.


Job Description


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Manages all education services for the department including collaborates with divisions/sections regarding their educational activities.
  • Supervises two or more office staff including monitoring time, performance appraisals, organizing office operations, monitoring the workflow of the office and coaching, counseling and disciplining employees.
  • Monitors spending and develops trends to assure the office remains within budgetary constraints.  
  • Assembles educational research and project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.         
  • Provides oversight for the relationship with the GMEC, ACGME and Program Coordinator, as well as, BJH and School of Medicine interactions related to reports and trainee location tracking and compliance.
  • Liaison for accreditation information within the Department including troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Analysis of resident and fellow quarterly duty hour violation data and ACGME data.
  • Review and approval of educational programs and policy changes with the Program Director.
  • Project support for education-related committees and Tasks Forces within the Department.
  • Manages process improvement and quality assurance initiatives related to programs oversight, as well as works toward ensuring efficiency within programs.
  • Manages various software related to the programs and ensures unification of all system data warehousing (past, present and future).
  • Provides support on the creation of statistical and/or demographics reports.
  • Leads and reports on all training initiatives; ensures faculty, residents/trainees and administrative staff are fully competent in the use of any relevant software (e.g., scheduling, procedure logging, evaluations, monitoring conference attendance, duty hours, program milestone tracking, as well as general personnel/demographic tracking).
  • Oversees the systematic tools used to compile data on resident performance and rotations.
  • Responsible for annual import/export of demographic information for new and archived users.
  • Design/build/manage anonymous surveys for accreditation compliance.
  • Oversight of Education Office Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Project List.                              
  • Assists and supervises maintenance of websites as well as monitoring social media presence of the relevant training programs and any future social media expansion.
  • Backup support for residency/fellowship coordinators for oversight of program compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range
$58,400.00 - $99,700.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
