General Description

The laboratory of Gislin Dagnelie, PhD, Lions Vision Research and Rehabilitation Center, Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute, is inviting applications for a postdoctoral fellow position, annually renewable for up to 4 years. The fellowship will be part of an NIH R61/R33-funded project, "Gaze-contingent AI-assisted Low Vision Assistive Technology." Under this project we are developing new head-worn technology that informs and assists users with profound visual impairment about objects, people, obstacles, hazards, etc. in their field of view, guided by their gaze. The success of this project will be critically dependent on the contributions of a researcher with expertise in human and machine vision. 


Qualifications

The ideal applicant will have a PhD in vision science, computer science, or a related field. Experience in cloud-based and mobile image processing for rapid object and face recognition and in use of head-mounted eye tracking is highly desirable.
