Summary

The Learning Support Assistant assists students with disabilities in laboratory settings to ensure equal access to coursework and completion of lab activities.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as a sighted guide in laboratory environments for students with visual impairments.
  • Provide reader and/or scribing support as an approved accommodation.
  • Assist students with mobility or dexterity accommodations by physically completing lab tasks as directed by the student or instructor.
  • Follow all lab instructions and safety procedures while supporting the student's learning objectives.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions carefully.
  • Comfort working in laboratory settings.
  • Strong attention to detail and professionalism.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and student support.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
