Job Summary
The College of Pharmacy is seeking a Laboratory Technician Senior to work in the lab of Dr. Arun Maji.
The technician will perform routine cell cultures in BSL2 labs including microbes and mammalian cells (maintaining frozen stocks, routine passage of cells, genotyping, mycoplasma testing, sourcing, quarantine and quality assurance of new cell lines). Additionally, this position will evaluate test molecules for cellular efficacy, toxicity and cell migration and perform experiment with group members and with collaborators.
The technician will independently plan and execute cell culture experiments to inform medicinal chemistry optimization according to established laboratory and manufacturer protocols, perform standard molecular and cell biology experiments and present experimental data in tables, graphs, etc. at internal and external project team meetings.
The technician will be responsible for maintaining reagent supply and chemical inventory, organizing lab space, maintaining safety documentation, managing chemical and biohazard waste; and performing regular maintenance and cleaning of critical lab equipment
