Lab Research Technician, Cell & Molecular Biology
Cell & Molecular Biology
Location:  New Orleans, LA
Summary

The Laboratory Research Technician will provide general support to ongoing research in the Tasker laboratory, including animal husbandry and genotyping/phenotyping, ordering, purchasing, lab upkeep, oversight of undergraduate students, etc.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong organizational and management skills
• Standard laboratory techniques and molecular cloning techniques
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and PowerPoint software
Required Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree and one to two years of directly related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • College level coursework in cell, molecular, and/or neuro biology
  • Experience with animal dissection and histological preparations
  • Experience with mouse breeding and genotyping
  • Experience with immunohistochemistry and Western blotting
  • Experience with confocal microscopy
  • Experience with PCR and qPCR
  • Experience with molecular biology
  • Experience with cell cultures

Compensation Information
This position is classified as "non-exempt, hourly" and is assigned to pay grade 23.
