Job Summary
The Industrial Engineer, will deliver high‑level engineering, operational excellence, and management consulting services that strengthen the competitiveness and profitability of Texas manufacturers. This position drives business development, leads Lean and operational transformation engagements, develops advanced manufacturing solutions, and executes complex industrial engineering projects. The role is responsible for generating revenue, managing multiple customer engagements, and delivering measurable, validated financial impact consistent with TMAC and NIST MEP standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Execution & Operational Excellence
  • Lead Lean transformations, value‑stream improvements, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events targeting cost reduction, waste elimination, and improved flow.
  • Deliver hands‑on 5S, visual management, and workplace organization programs.
  • Design and implement advanced manufacturing solutions to improve throughput and efficiency.
  • Conduct time studies, workflow balancing, takt time analysis, and labor optimization.
  • Apply structured root‑cause and problem‑solving methodologies.
  • Ensure all improvements align with customer strategic and operational goals.

Business Development & Customer Engagement
  • Identify, pursue, and follow up on leads to grow TMAC’s customer base.
  • Conduct site visits, assess client needs, and prepare detailed proposals.
  • Sell, scope, and manage applied engineering and operational improvement projects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers at all organizational levels, from frontline to executive leadership.
  • Manage multiple engagements simultaneously while ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Quantify and document measurable financial impact using MEP-aligned methodologies.

Facility Layout & Advanced Engineering Solutions
  • Lead facility layout planning, workflow optimization, and plant relocation initiatives.
  • Use AutoCAD or comparable layout tools to design efficient production environments.
  • Conduct equipment inventories, material flow studies, and space‑planning analyses.
  • Support expansion planning and new facility start‑ups across diverse manufacturing sectors.

Training, Education & Leadership Development
  • Deliver Lean, operational excellence, and engineering training programs to clients and internal teams.
  • Create standardized training materials and instructional frameworks.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support statewide capability development.
  • Present at industry conferences, TMAC events, and professional forums as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, or consulting.
  • Demonstrate the ability to deliver measurable financial impact for customers.
  • Working knowledge of ISO management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree (MBA, Engineering, or relevant STEM field).
  • Minimum twelve (12) years of experience in manufacturing or consulting.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Experience leading complex, multi‑facility or large‑scale engineering projects.
  • Experience developing and delivering workforce development programs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD or comparable facility‑layout software.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous engagements and deadlines.
Other Requirements
Workplace and Eligibility Conditions
  • Work may occur in manufacturing environments with exposure to industrial hazards, including high noise levels, heavy machinery, and extreme temperatures.
