The Graduate Assistant for Student Engagement & Leadership supports Registered Student Organization (RSO) programming, leadership development initiatives, Student Government Association (SGA) operations, and the planning and implementation of campus events. This position provides hands-on experience in student development, program coordination, and leadership advising while supporting the mission of student engagement and involvement.

Registered Student Organizations & Leadership Development - 40
Support the development, training, and advising of Registered Student Organizations (RSOs)
Assist with leadership development programs, workshops, and retreats for student leaders
Serve as a resource for student leaders regarding policies, procedures, and best practices
Help track RSO registration, compliance, and engagement metrics
Event Planning & Implementation - 30
Assist in the planning, coordination, promotion, and execution of campus-wide programs and events.
Support logistics including room reservations, timelines, and event staffing.
Assist with assessment and evaluation of programs and events.
Student Government Association Support - 25
Assist in advising the Student Government Association in collaboration with professional staff
Assist with leadership transitions, onboarding, and training for SGA members
Support SGA meetings, elections, initiatives, and committee work
Other - 5
Other duties as assigned

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree
Other Required Qualifications
Approved for regular admission to a graduate degree program at Georgia College & State University. Upload Acceptance into "Additional Documents" attachment in application.
Maintain academic good standing. If a student's grade point average falls below a 3.00 (academic warning), the student will have next semester or summer term to improve and return to good standing before termination of the assistantship. Should a student fail to return to good standing after the next semester or summer term, or should a student receive academic exclusion and be dismissed from the degree program, the assistantship will be terminated at once.
This position will work in-person 19 hours per week. 
Full assistantships (19 hours/week) cover all but $25 of tuition.
Applicable student fees are not covered by the assistantship.
Course loads for graduate assistants must be at least 5 graduate semester hours.
