The University of Nicosia Medical School (UNIC Athens) invites applications from motivated academics for a Teaching and Research Faculty position in Epidemiology and Public Health, based in Athens, Greece. Applications are invited at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, based on the candidate's experience and academic record.

Essential Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Epidemiology and Public Health or a closely related discipline.
  • Proven record of undergraduate and / or postgraduate teaching relevant to the subject area.
  • Research portfolio and publication record commensurate with the rank sought.
  • Excellent command of English.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, deliver, and regularly update content relevant to their field across the curriculum of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) programme and postgraduate programmes. The successful candidate will be expected to engage students through innovative teaching methods, fostering critical thinking, professional values and ethical practice.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to students, including advising on research projects, theses, and career development.
  • Conduct high-impact research in Epidemiology and Public Health, securing external funding to establish and sustain these programmes.
  • Disseminate findings through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences.
  • Serve on Departmental and School committees and assist with strategic planning and development.
  • Advance the School’s mission by leading community outreach initiatives, holding leadership roles in relevant professional societies, and building strategic partnerships with healthcare and regulatory organisations.
