Salary Range: $48,000 to $58,000
The University of St. Thomas has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Ticket Sales is responsible for leading all ticket sales operations for the athletics department, including revenue generation, ticket strategy, sales staff management, customer service, and fan engagement. This position develops and executes sales plans to maximize attendance and revenue across all ticketed sports while supporting the department’s broader external relations and fundraising goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ticket Sales
- Develop and execute comprehensive ticket sales strategies for all ticketed sports (football, men’s and women’s basketball, and other designated sports).
- Set annual and seasonal revenue goals; monitor progress and adjust strategies to meet or exceed revenue expectations.
- Collaborate with Associate AD-GM & Ticketing for pricing models, sales campaigns, promotions, and group sales initiatives.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and attendance patterns to inform decision-making.
- Assist customers in selecting and purchasing tickets for events, ensuring a smooth and efficient transaction process.
- Promote upcoming events and special offers to drive ticket sales.
- Process sales through ticketing systems, handle cash (if necessary), credit card transactions, and other payment methods.
- Lead ticketing the renewal process of all ticketed sports along with recommendations on pricing increases where appropriate.
- Manage and oversee the hiring and support of student interns who are responsible for group outreach and other sales efforts during the year.
- Manage all incoming leads and follow up in a timely manner with those who have submitted inquiries.
Ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional policies. - Monitor attendance reporting and post-event sales analysis.
Customer Service
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional, courteous and timely manner.
- Provide accurate information about events, including dates, times, locations, and ticket pricing.
- Resolve issues related to ticketing, such as refunds, exchanges, and lost tickets, in accordance with company policies.
System Management
- Operate and maintain ticketing software and systems, ensuring accurate data entry and record-keeping.
- Monitor ticket inventory and alert supervisors of any discrepancies or issues.
- Assist the Director of Ticketing Operations and Service with basic back-office functions of the ticketing software to alleviate and assist where needed.
Event Support
- Assist with event setup and operations as needed, including ticket scanning, guest check-in, and seating arrangements.
- Collaborate with event staff and other departments to ensure a seamless event experience for attendees.
Sales and Marketing:
- Identify opportunities to upsell additional tickets, group packages and/or experiences.
- Support marketing initiatives by distributing promotional materials and engaging with customers to drive awareness and sales.
Work with Sales and Marketing Director to come up with new and creative ways to engage fans, through experiences, group sales and sell tickets, suites and packages for all Tommie ticketed sports.
Reporting and Documentation
- Generate and review sales reports, tracking performance and identifying trends.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, transactions and feedback.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of three years experience in ticket sales, customer service, or a related field
- Proficiency with ticketing software
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts effectively
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience at the Division I or professional levels
- Paciolan experience
