We’re looking for a forward-thinking Oracle Database Administration Manager to lead the strategy, reliability, and performance of our enterprise database ecosystem.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of architecture, operations, and people leadership. You’ll guide how we design, scale, and secure mission-critical systems that power everything from ERP to student success platforms.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the health, performance, and security of Oracle database environments across production and non-production systems
  • Lead the design and evolution of high-availability architectures (RAC, Data Guard, ASM, Grid Infrastructure)
  • Drive performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization in a Linux-based environment
  • Oversee backup, recovery, and disaster readiness using RMAN and related tools
  • Set technical direction, standards, and best practices for database operations
  • Partner with ERP and application teams to deliver reliable, scalable data solutions
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of database administrators
  • Balance strategic planning with hands-on problem solving



What You Bring

  • Strong expertise in Oracle database technologies (RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, Grid Infrastructure)
  • Experience managing databases in a Linux environment
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, tune, and optimize complex systems
  • Leadership experience—whether formal or informal—guiding technical teams
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences


Qualifications

Minimum
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience
  • 5+ years of relevant database administration experience

Preferred
  • Degree in Information Technology or related field
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) and/or Oracle Certified Expert (OCE), or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of people leadership or supervisory experience
  • Experience with SQL Server and/or MySQL

Lead and oversee the ongoing administration, monitoring, and maintenance of Oracle database environments to ensure high availability, performance optimization, data integrity, and security compliance. Direct daily operational activities including performance tuning, backup and recovery management, patch implementation, capacity planning, incident response, and 24×7 production support while ensuring adherence to established SLAs and governance standards.

Serve as the primary liaison between the Database Administration team, IT leadership, application owners, and business stakeholders to ensure clear, timely, and effective communication regarding database operations, incidents, changes, and strategic initiatives. Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and performance reporting to leadership; translate complex technical concepts into business-impact language for non-technical audiences; and foster collaboration across teams to support service reliability, project delivery, and continuous improvement.

Provides management with application and system recommendations based on discussions with users and technical staff including enhancement requests and bug/break fix documentation.
