Posting Description
COMPUTER SUPPORT ASSISTANT, Media Lab, to respond and resolve hardware, software, networks, and/or security issues, including installation and updates; respond to non-routine requests for support, identifying which issues to escalate; order, track, and return equipment, including warranty claims; create accounts, configure software/hardware, and orient new hires as part of on-boarding process; stay up-to-date on latest releases of applications, operating systems, and relevant business topics; communicate technical concepts in common terms to ensure all audiences understand; install, configure, and update personal computing devices including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices; troubleshoot wired and wireless access network issues; monitor and communicate systems status to management and develops necessary reports; and resolve complex audiovisual equipemnt issues, supporting conferencing and multimedia requests.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent; four years computer user support experience; demonstrable experience in the following areas: TCP/IP and Ethernet networking including VLANs, DNS, and DHCP - Unix/Linux/Windows/MacOS internals and interoperability; familiarity with Audio Visual equipment and multimedia networking; scripting in context of routine task automation; ticketing systems; excellent interpersonal communication; solid systems architecture, software development, and sharp problem-solving skills; ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and tolerate sound levels requiring ear protection; evening/night/weekend work occasionally required. PREFERRED: Bachelor's degree or equivalent; six years of experience supporting a mixed-operating-system environment; demonstrable experience in the following areas: ITIL/ITSM, ServiceNow, Wide-format printing and design, Active Directory/LDAP, and Windows/NFSv4 ACLs.
