Advertising/Posting Title Clinical Research Coordinator
Posting Summary
Coordinate clinical research protocols in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine in the Department of Medicine. Recruit potential research subjects with acute and/or chronic lung disease and critical illness through consent process while exercising judgement and sensitivity. Prepare initial and ongoing regulatory submissions, continuously manage secure research data, and report to investigators, sponsors, and other agencies. Liaise with hospital providers, UVMMC clinics, and clinics in the UVMMC network to recruit potential study subjects. Perform pulmonary function testing and outcomes testing associated with pulmonary and critical care research studies and coordinate collection, processing, storage, and shipment of human biological specimens. Perform administrative functions including preparation of initial and ongoing IRB submissions, data management, and reporting to regulatory agencies.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field and one to three years of related experience required. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within clinical research required. Effective verbal and written communication skills required. Effective interpersonal skills and organizational skills required. Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications required.
Desirable Qualifications
Phlebotomy experience, or willing to complete training in phlebotomy through a provided course preferred. Prior experience in a clinical research lab desirable. Experience with face-to-face interactions in a medical or clinical research setting with medical patients and their loved ones preferred.
Anticipated Pay Range $60,000 - $65,000

Special Conditions A probationary period may be required, Contingent on continued funding, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
