Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a clinical science department within the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. As the regions only academic OBGYN department, the primary functions of the department are to teach obstetrics and gynecology to medical students, resident physicians, post graduate students, nurses and other allied health professional, provide evidence-based and comprehensive clinical service to the region, and conduct clinical research featuring our rural mission.
Job Duties
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine, has temporary faculty positions available.
The Faculty positions are available at the titles of Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor, Teaching Assistant Professor, Teaching Associate Professor, Teaching Professor, Research Assistant Professor, Research Associate Professor, and Research Professor.
These part-time, temporary faculty positions may have teaching, clinical, research, and administrative duties.
Positions are 12-month, fixed term appointments.

ECU Health Physicians includes an academic practice model (ECU employment) and a community practice model (health system employment). Minimum Education/Experience
-MD, DO, or PhD from an appropriately accredited institution or completed foreign medical education accepted and recognized for ECFMG Certification
-For MD/DO – NC Medical license; board certified in appropriate discipline
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
Clinical Faculty – NC medical license required for those providing patient care, full unencumbered license to practice medicine in NC, full schedule DEA Registration Certificate, and credentialing with ECU Physicians.
