Job Summary
The Kinesiology Department in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, at the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professory – Academic Professional Track (APT).
The Clinical Assistant Professor of Public Health teaches and supervises students in classroom, clinical and community settings. They evaluate student performance, support curriculum improvements, and maintain partnerships with clinical sites. The role also includes professional development and service to the program.
In accordance with USCIS regulations, successful applicants must be legally able to accept work in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implement high quality instruction and supervision to students in classroom and clinical settings.
  • Evaluate student performance and contribute to curriculum improvement.
  • Teach assigned courses, commensurate with experience.
  • Build and maintain strong partnership with clinical agencies.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback on student performance and competencies.
  • Serve on departmental committees and contribute to strategic initiatives.
  • Uphold public standards in public health.
  • Serve as a professional role model.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Public Health or related field
  • DrPH or PhD in Public Health or related field
  • Demonstrated professional experience in a public health area (epidemiology, community health, health education, environmental health, health policy, biostatistics, global health).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in a higher education setting

Department Information
The Kinesiology Department in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation at UTA is comprised of several undergraduate programs, which includes a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science program with tracks in Clinical & Applied Physiology, Health, Fitness & Wellness, and Motor & Rehabilitation Sciences, and a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology with tracks in Physical Education Teacher Education and Sport Leadership and Management. The department also has three master’s programs – a Master of Science in Exercise Science, a Master of Science in Athletic Training, and Master of Public Health, as well as a Ph.D. in Kinesiology.
The Department of Kinesiology is an active member of the American Kinesiology Association (AKA) .
