Posting Summary
Join the Vermont Child Health Improvement Program (VCHIP) as a Project Director leading quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with Golisano Children’s Hospital at UVM Health. This role oversees QI projects, develops and delivers training for child health professionals, mentors multidisciplinary teams, and evaluates improvement efforts. The Project Director will coordinate with internal and external partners, engage families and community advisors, and represent Vermont in children’s hospital quality initiatives. Strong experience in project management, quality improvement, and team facilitation is required.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, social/behavioral science, public health, human development, social work, psychology, or related field and five to ten years professional experience, including training as a skilled medical professional (e.g . nursing, physical therapy, social work or mental health counseling) required.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement science and statistical methods for design and analysis of health care programs required.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct descriptive statistics required.
  • Experience with complex project management and oversight as well as expertise in working with interdisciplinary teams of clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and community partners.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of data and spreadsheet applications required.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience developing and facilitating quality improvement trainings for health care professionals in clinical settings.
  • Master’s degree in nursing, social/behavioral science, or related field.
  • Knowledge and experience as a facilitator and coach of health care quality improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Experience with medical charts and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Previous work involving pediatric and children’s specialty services and/or quality improvement (QI) research.
Anticipated Pay Range $73,000 - $83,000
Other Information
Special Conditions A probationary period may be required, Contingent on continued funding, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
