Responsible for the supervision of all aspects of a high-volume catering operation, including in-house catering rooms and off-site locations. Duties include training, coaching and supervision of staff, interactions with guests, and evaluation of personnel, products, and equipment. Service styles range from box lunch drop-offs to VIP receptions and plated meals. Plans, coordinates and involved in all areas, including meeting with clients, service activities, sanitation, and fiscal responsibilities. This is an essential staff position in Hospitality Services and is necessary for food production/service operations through weather or other emergency conditions.·
Job Duties:
Train, schedule, and evaluate assigned staff on work to be performed.
Responsible for coaching and disciplining non- student and student staff through the shift.
Develops weekly schedules for all caterers, based on events and staffing availability and adjusting as needed for any event or staffing changes, considering the strengths and weaknesses of the individual and planning ahead for large upcoming events that require staffing beyond our daily capacity
Monitor the daily event log and emails and adjust the schedule as needed based on event and staffing changes.
Assume responsibility for covering/correcting staffing shortages, operational problems, and performance issues.
Oversees and actively participates in the planning, staging, setup, and service for all catered events, across many different venues, on-and-off-campus.
Supervises and provides direction to student-staff and oversees the work of full-time caterers.
This position must be available to answer time-sensitive questions and concerns off-hours.
Responsible for coaching and disciplining non-student and student staff.
Interacts with clients, including the UNH President and other VIPs daily.
Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of the UNH campus, buildings, and off-site venues.
Develop and maintain client relationships.
Ensure that food supplies, utensils, and event signage necessary for efficient operations are available and that equipment is functioning properly.
Ensure that food is served at proper temperature and safely handled until consumed, stored or discarded.
Responsible for student payroll and timecard record keeping.
Maintain necessary service records, temperature logs and other records/reports.
Coordinates all vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
Ensures students are in compliance with PCI Certification, Defensive Driving and Title IX. Perform other duties as assigned.
Based on business needs, position will be required to assist with production and service requirements, as necessary.
Minimum Qualiffications
High school graduation or equivalent
Two years of supervisory experience in a food service operation.
Knowledge of food service techniques, sanitation and safety.
Strong interpersonal abilities.
Ability to multi-task and self-prioritize.
Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
Must be able to physically meet the demands of the position including lifting, bending, twisting, pulling, and pushing loads up to 50lbs.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include nights and weekends.
ServSafe Certified
Must have a guest service passion and the ability to work with diverse teams.
Working knowledge of Microsoft office software.
Bilingual English/Spanish

Compensation Pay Range:
