General Description/Primary Purpose:

Part-time adjunct faculty position in the Department of Clinical & Applied Movement Sciences. Adjunct faculty are employed on a semester-by-semester basis, as needed, and are non-tenure-earning.

Position responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Teach assigned course(s) in accordance with the approved syllabus and course schedule.

  • Hold scheduled office hours with frequency and modality as negotiated with the acting program director and department chair.

  • Mentor students.

Working Hours: Part-time

Work Schedule: Varies

Supervision Exercised:  This is not a supervisory role.

Required Licensure:

  • Kinesiology UG and Kinesiology grad: N/A    

  • Athletic Training: Board of Certification, Florida licensure or eligible for athletic training licensure in Florida

Anticipated Start Date: The position is expected to begin on May 4, 2026.

Compensation: Adjunct faculty are paid a minimum of $1000 per credit hour.

Required Qualifications:

  • Kinesiology UG: earned master’s degree in Exercise Science (or related field)

  • Kinesiology grad: earned doctoral degree in Exercise Science (or related field)

  • Athletic Training: earned doctoral degree in biomechanics, exercise science, sports medicine, or a related field; certification and good standing with the Board of Certification; current Florida licensure or eligible for athletic training licensure in Florida

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Kinesiology UG and Kinesiology grad: record of diverse teaching experiences in course areas we are seeking to fill; American College of Sports Medicine, National Strength and Conditioning Associations, and other related certifications   

    • Athletic Training: record of diverse teaching experiences in course areas we are seeking to fill

    About the Department: The Clinical & Applied Movement Sciences Department (CAMS) at UNF offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Undergraduate students can pursue a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Our Graduate programs include a Master of Science in Health with a concentration in Kinesiology and Lifestyle Medicine and a Master of Science in Athletic Training.     Required Qualifications

    Temporary appointment extended to an expert in a specific field to give instruction in connection with an established program. The appointments are: for one (1) academic term at a time and possess no continuing contractual relationship with the University. May teach undergrad courses with Master's degree in specified discipline. Can be used for temporary (OPS) faculty titles only.
