Pay Rate $52,000
Minimum Experience/Education
Required Qualifications
• Completed doctoral degree in Kinesiology, Behavioral Sciences, Health Promotion, Public Health or closely related areas with an interest working with urban communities by start date
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Analytic programming/coding skills for data management and statistical analyses
• Strong intellectual curiosity and ability to work independently within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team
• Attention to detail
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
Preferred Qualifications
• Human research experience in home and/or community environments
• Knowledge of working with theories from health and social psychology
• Qualitative and quantitative research methodology experience
• Special consideration given to individuals with experience and publications in the areas of behavioral interventions, community-based research, racialized/minoritized communities, and/or yoga
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities might include but are not limited to:
• serving as a research trainee to further develop and refine research skills;
• engaging in the conceptualization, design, and implementation of research projects under the guidance of Dr. Barr-Anderson;
• analyzing and interpreting quantitative and qualitative research data;
• aiding in the creation of research materials for the publication of technical reports, articles, and/or conference talks; and
• actively engaging in the grant writing process to secure additional funding.
