 The Frost School of Music at the University of Miami seeks an innovative scholar, dynamic teacher, and supportive colleague to join the tenure-track faculty of the Department of Musicology. The ideal candidate will engage in interdisciplinary research that complements the interests of the Department’s faculty. Applications from individuals whose work draws on historical and ethnographic approaches and examines global crosscurrents of musical activity and new trends in music-centered scholarship are especially welcome. 

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses at the Frost School of Music. These may include courses listed in our academic bulletin (e.g., Music Bibliography, Music of the Romantic Period, Music in the United States, Music of Latin America), as well as topics in the scholar's field(s) of expertise.
  • Pursue a vibrant program of scholarly research that demonstrates continued professional growth and visibility.
  • Mentor and advise students in the Musicology Department and the Frost School of Music.
  • Contribute service to the department, the Frost School, the University, and the profession (e.g., state/national organizations) and contribute to the creative and intellectual life of the university.
